Hip-hop is a really fun style to watch, that’s why we see a lot of it in music videos and on TV. It doesn't have any strict rules, so you don't need the perfect ballet technique or 10 years of training to look good doing hip-hop. What counts the most is your sense of rhythm, because it's something necessary for freestyle. Everything in hip-hop is energetic and unique, some dancers even think that it shouldn't be formally taught, because it takes away the originality of the moves. Dance battles are a characteristic element of this style, because hip-hop is a typical street dance.
